Props and Cosplay

My initial interest in theatre and performance has always been props work, especially personal props. The right one completes a stage, moulds a character and can cast a scene in a whole new light.

I am also fascinated by antiques and the accoutrements of our ancestors, the sense of history and glamour such object bring, though they have fallen out of favour in the new technological age. When I came into the theatre, I sought to bring my enthusiasm with me, attempting to ensure that all props and costumes remained true to the era or environment they inhabited.

As I learnt more, and experimented with Cosplay and creating characters, attempting to replicate iconic props from my favourite games, such as The Outsider's Heart from 'Dishonoured' I began to advance my skills, creating more interesting items and using what I had learnt in aspects of my degree, such as my Second Year performance.
